A Methodology for Reliability Risk Assessment of Potential Failure Modes in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Abstract

Risk assessment methods are one of the essential elements of software risk management plan. In this study, a reliability risk assessment was conducted using the FMEA method in alliance with popular management standards to classify the risks and determining the risk impact on the project outcomes (cost, period and quality) in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
